Sura 91: The Sun
(Al-Shams)
In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

والشمس وضحاها
By the sun and its brightness.

والقمر اذا تلاها
The moon that follows it.
Ayet Numarası: 91.3

والنهار اذا جلاها
The day that reveals.
Ayet Numarası: 91.4
Ayet Konusu
والليل اذا يغشاها
The night that covers.
Ayet Numarası: 91.5
Ayet Konusu
والسماء وما بناها
The sky and Him who built it.

والارض وما طحاها
The earth and Him who sustains it.
Ayet Numarası: 91.7
Ayet Konusu
ونفس وما سواها
The soul and Him who created it.
Ayet Numarası: 91.8
Ayet Konusu
فالهمها فجورها وتقواها
Then showed it what is evil and what is good.

Ayet Konusu
قد افلح من زكاها
Successful is one who redeems it.
Ayet Numarası: 91.10
Ayet Konusu
وقد خاب من دساها
Failing is one who neglects it.
Ayet Numarası: 91.11
Ayet Konusu
كذبت ثمود بطغواها
Thamoud’s disbelief caused them to transgress.

Ayet Konusu
اذ انبعث اشقاها
They followed the worst among them.
Ayet Numarası: 91.13
Ayet Konusu
فقال لهم رسول الله ناقة الله وسقياها
GOD’s messenger said to them, “This is GOD’s camel; let her drink.”

Ayet Konusu
فكذبوه فعقروها فدمدم عليهم ربهم بذنبهم فسواها
They disbelieved him and slaughtered her. Their Lord then requited them for their sin and annihilated them.

Ayet Konusu
ولا يخاف عقباها
Yet, those who came after them remain heedless.
